WLAN fällt nach längeren Übertragunf willkürlich aus

ich kaufte zuletzt für ein Familienmitglied einen Laptop des Typs Lenovo V110-15IAP / Pentium N4200 und installierte auf diesen Linux Mint 18.2 -- lief erstmal alles prima.
Doch seit Neuestem habe ich das Problem, dass sich das WLAN des Laptops, gerade nach großen, langwierigen Übertragungen, plötzlich ausschaltet. Heute wollte ich meinen Musikordner $HOME/Musik/ in den des Laptops per rsync übertragen:

Nach ca. einem Gigabyte brach die Übertragung ab -- der Server antwortete nicht mehr. Im Menü unseres Routers stand, michaelLaptop sei nicht mit dem WLAN verbunden. Ein paar Minuten später baute er die Verbindung wieder erfolgreich auf.

Zunächst hatte ich den Verdacht, dass unser neuer Router von der Telekom spann, doch ich weiß nicht, wie man Informationen über diesen ausliest. Der Typ lautet Speedport W 724V.
Übertrage ich große Menge an Daten per rsync an den PC meines Vaters, beide PCs besitzen jeweils eine LAN-Verbindung, bekomme ich keinerlei Probleme -- ob es etwas mit dem WLAN zu tun hat?

Bei dem Befehl iwconfig seht Ihr, dass das Powermanagement des WLANs deaktiviert ist -- ich stellte dies ein.
